    To answer your question, YES, I have used distance to help me…I moved over 3000km away from the situation I was in that caused me so much fear.
    Once I reclaimed my sense of safety, I found therapy and worked on my education on what I was seeing and feeling. I changed my mindset from “why are they doing this to me” to “what is all this trying to teach me” with all the help and support I found.
    I have spent the past few years in CBT therapy, doing exposure therapy, and learning to manage my ptsd once again.
    By using the “pause” when I feel myself reacting, no matter the situation, I have found peace. I feel so much better, not only about myself but about everyone in my life.
