Faith is the genuine belief and the sincere heart that humans should possess when they cannot see or touch something when God’s work is not in line with human notions when it is beyond human reach. 

It is natural for us to experience the odds and flow of emotions connected with the variation in our life experiences and seasons. So, how do we deal with these various seasons of our life to strengthening our Faith?

Place your faith actively in God

We need to live with active faith in God, His Word and His ways. Where we put our faith is demonstrated by our behavior and the choices that we make. Consider when determining where you are putting your faith, if your faith is in God or in your comfort, in your money, or your career.

To place your faith in God means you need to spend time getting to know Him through the Bible and through prayer. Faith in God is built up over time and you can build and grow in your relationship with God. This faith in God helps us give Him thanks in the good times or in bad times.

Love God and love others without judgment

God calls us to love everyone, even those who are against us. You are the light of the world, so shine bright my darling friend. We are to be loving and caring towards each other, encouraging, and building one another up. Let’s be joyful people, who don’t spend our days complaining.

And practice thankfulness and be forgiving. Refer back to Mark 11:25, Jesus stated that when we pray we must not hold anything against anyone, but we are to forgive, so our Father can forgive us of our sins.

We must be giving of our time, our talents, and our treasures. When people see you, let them not only see a person that is a believer in God, but let them see a person that exercises great faith in their lives. Let them see a role model for a God first life, let your actions draw people closer to God.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven ~ Matthew 5:16 

Loving God and others helps us take the focus off ourselves and our own circumstances. It puts us in a posture of serving and helping others. This also helps tremendously when we find ourselves in those flat “desert” seasons of life.

Obey God in His timing

Are we obeying God in what we are supposed to do and in also what we are not supposed to do? For those of us who are parents, are we asking our children to obey us and then turning around and disobeying God ourselves? We need to go to God with repentant hearts, ask for forgiveness, and then make a change. Often, we need to get help from a friend, a pastor, or a professional counselor or support group.

Following God’s ways can be difficult and counter-cultural. Jesus demonstrated this all the time. But He also demonstrated what ultimate obedience and victory look like—they look like eternal life in heaven! They look like Kingdom living on earth and in heaven. It is not easy, but it does result in tremendous blessing and fulfillment.

Worship God with a thankful heart

Do you like it when someone praises you for a job well done or gives you a “pat on the back?” Do you like to be loved and wanted? So does God!

Living life with worship in our hearts is pleasing to God. And just like loving others takes the focus off ourselves, so does worship.

How do you worship? Is it through worship music?  Or through being thankful for every day God gives you here on this earth? Is it by showing God how important He is to you by taking time to pray?

Let us worship God every day, regardless of our circumstances!

No matter what situation you are in, staying focused on God and staying in the flow will help you experience His peace and love regardless of your circumstances, the way that the Apostle Paul described:

I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. ~ Philippians 4:12-13 NIV

Daily prayer will invite God into your lives and help you establish a deeper trust. Your faith will grow stronger as we release the power of prayer in your lives. I believe that any form of prayer is okay, formal or informal, as long as you’re communicating with God, it’s always good. We are instructed to pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances. Therefore, to truly exercise faith in your life you must live a prayerful life, constantly reaching out to God.

TRUST

Matthew 6:25-27 says: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

Fully trusting in God is very hard. It calls us to act in great faith daily, but think about how great life could be if we lived without worry, stress, anxiety, fear, and doubt. We must intentionally focus on God’s plans for us and not our own, and sometimes that means setting aside our own plans and expectations.

God wants to prosper us and not harm us. His plans for us are greater than anything we can imagine for ourselves. We have to remove doubt from our hearts, replace it with belief, and trust Him! In doing so our faith will grow stronger and stronger as we see Him lead us in the directions we are truly meant to go.

Read Scriptures

We must know the Word of God! Because we need His Word inside, in our minds and in our hearts. Knowing God’s Word goes hand in hand with trusting God and praying.

Read His promises, and then have great faith in God, that they will come to pass. Pray them over your life. In God’s Word we will find strength, hope, love, peace, and joy. We will also find promises of provision, and instructions to keep us away from sin and rebuke the devil. We will gain wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in our lives through His instructions.
